In case you were wondering, knitting (and photographing) still actually happen :)
This one is a circle shrug for my daughter's first school sweater. I'm rather pleased, especially considering I just kind of was winging it from the big(ger) one I did for me. There've been some unintended occurrences - the ruffled edge - that I actually rather like. So, while this isn't actually designing, it gets enough of that DIY attitude that I want for it to suffice :)
Now I just need to put forth the effort to finish the sleeves and I'll have a FO on my hands.
Ravelled here.

Little Bit has been excavating her dresser and she pulled out this lovely handknit sweater we found at a yardsale when she was just a tiny thing. I can remember not being able to imagine her being big enough to ever wear it, and here she is, choosing to wear it herself. They grow up so fast!

The sweater is DONE. Well, nearly. I just need to get the husband to pick out a zipper (after I do much research on choosing the right length, attaching it, etc.), attach the zipper and then block it. But still, this mammoth project is off the needles!
I am feeling rather proud of myself... the collar even stands up on it's own! Oh yeah... I have finished my first sweater... and even if the husband doesn't wear it, I most certainly will... it is SO snuggly! Now it's time to look at making myself a sweater :)

Nearly there... I can smell it! I think this sweater (Men's Zipped Raglan from Last Minute Knitted Gifts) will be off the needles this week. This is the biggest knitting project I have taken on (and nearly finished). So very excited!!

023/366 - Houston, we have a problem
But, when I looked down at it, this is what I saw.
An 8 stitch difference!! That's 1 set of 4x4 rib!!! There is no way I can pull that one off. Especially if I want my husband to ever wear it. And after all the time I've spent on it, he had better. So, this is the last look you will get of the sweater before I rip back to the armpits.
Oh, it hurts me so.

Looks a bit like a girl sweater, doesn't it? I tried it on... it's yummy... if the husband doesn't like it, I'm definitely adding it to my wardrobe. Now that the sweater has arms it takes forever to get a row done... thank goodness I'm decreasing every other one :)
Monkey's are DONE! I'm wearing them today to see how they work... woo hoo!!

Progress pic of Jason's sweater. I'll go back to working on this just as soon as I finish my monkey's. I'm fairly pleased with it thus far, I just hope the sleeves turn out ok. But that deserves it's own post - more on that later.

First Sweater
Little Bit can finally wear the sweater I knit her when she was just a belly bump. This was my very first sweater, and near to my first project. Being a Debbie Bliss pattern, there was no drawing showing me how to put it together, so it took me a little while to figure out how one ought to attach the sleeves to the body and in what order.
I'm thinking its time to knit her another sweater, one that has been finished well, and one that will fit her the rest of the winter...
lucky for me, my contest yarn from Theresa of Knitting Underway arrived today with just the right amount of baby sweater yarn. Now, I just need to find a pattern.
