Gifts from Little Bit. She really wanted to pick the tomatoes, but I told her they weren't done cooking yet. So she picked these berries off our nandina plants. Not quite the same as tomatoes, but still fun to harvest.

I can haz tomatoes?
Oh yes! There are many! I've counted 25, and then lost count. It seems my tomatoes are making up for a fruitless spring. Now if we can just make it through the frost warnings for the next few days.

Another example of a heat survivor. These desert rose plants have the most delicate blooms, for a plant that is so heat and drought resistant.

When the heat is on, the colors get brighter. My lantana seems to be thriving this summer. These flowers are very interesting as well, as they change colors as they mature. An excellent Texas native.

My little gardener does her job - not only does she eat nasty bugs, she pollinates too! I highly recommend :)

A shot of our maiden grass as sunset. Its getting too hot to go out while the sun is still shining strong. We've had some amazing sunsets lately. Too bad the other houses get in the way.

A friend said this flower looks like it came straight from a Dr. Seuss book. It has such a unique shape, and I really like the way the color spectrum moves from red to yellow.

A regular at our bird feeder, I'm certain they are nesting somewhere near by. I'm not sure what kind of bird it is, but everybody likes watching them :)

Spring time means garden time! And, of course, a little helper who just LOVES playing in the dirt. I think that is the longest that she has played with anything thus far in her life. Gardening is just so much more fun when you can explore every aspect with new eyes :)
