These books are pretty good. I read the first one the first week in December and am now buried in Book 8. See, mom, I can still read fast!
I seem to have gotten off on my numbering somewhere... too late to go back and fix it now. Oh well.
It has been a good run. I've really enjoyed the discipline of getting that camera out every day, and then having to publish at least 1 picture. While I'm not going to continue with the official 365 project, I do believe that the habits I've acquired over the last year are going to last.
Thank you Project 365ers from Ravelry! I have enjoyed the journey the inspiration!

I got medieval on our bookshelves and culled out the ones to donate to the Mosaic library. It was hard, because most of these books I really like and don't want them to go away forever. Hence the donation to our church library. I know I can get to them any time I want :) But now, others can have access to them too (and they're off my shelves). Its a win-win.

Input Addiction
I have it bad. I love facts. I love knowing everything about everything. I listen to NPR pretty much 24/7. I subscribe to no less than 67 blog feeds (but I'm always looking for more - you can never have too much blogreading). I love books and reading. I really love making connections between different things that I've read/heard/seen and how all of it comes together to make one amazing body of knowledge.
So, when I took a strengths assessment, I wasn't surprised when my number 1 strength came back as input. From Strengths 2.0: "By nature, you fill your mind with new ideas by asking questions, reading, studying, observing or listening.
Normally, you accumulate facts, data, stories, examples, or background information from the people you meet. Determining what they want to accomplish in the coming weeks, months or years generally satisfies your curiosity. These insights also allow you to understand why individuals behave the way they do in different situations." While I often see this craving for knowledge as a negative (read: nosy), in fact, it is a good and necessary part of a complete team. Not everyone likes researching or investigating - but I live for it, so give me your researching jobs and I'll run with it. Just be sure to give me a deadline for results or I just might keep accumulating until the next interesting thing comes along.
Oh, and that photo is about half of my knitting books collection. I've only been knitting for a year. Some people collect yarn, I apparently collect knitting books. At least I'll have plenty of patterns to work on in case the internet ever goes down permanently :)

as I thought...
I am talking to myself in the blog'o'sphere. No matter, I'm not here for the crowd :)
So, I'm thinking I might take a dive into sock knitting with a few tidbits from Nancy Bush... Knitting on the Road and Knitting Vintage Socks, which can be had for a combined price of $27.82. I really like the idea that these books are spiral bound... should help it stay open. Plus, it seems every blog I frequent has many good things to say about these patterns.
But being a sock virgin, I'm wondering if I should try a free pattern first (like this toe-up version). But I'm more interested in something fun like Monkey on knitty. Of course before I venture into the world of sock knitting, I need to acquire some very skinny dpns and/or circulars, as well as some very skinny yarn. Most of my stash acquisitions have been in the worsted or bulky weights (discounting the Isabella yarn, of course).
I think I'll hold onto my bucks and see about getting some (fairly inexpensive) knitpicks yarn and hunt down some good quality dpns and circulars in the US1 - 2 range... yee haw!
