I won!!

So, I have apparently won this contest, that LOTS of people had entered, and now my blog, my poor neglected blog, is linked on this fantastic blog.

I've got all kinds of posts in my head and pictures in my camera to share, just no time at the moment to get it all out.

So, if any of you are still out there, I've got camping this weekend, but after that things should slow down just a tad and we can sit down, share a cup of tea and talk about what's been roiling around in my head and what's occupying my hands.

We gardened today (despite it being only 50 degrees (brrr!). Little Bit absolutely loved it. And the gardening itself wasn't too bad either.

If you have a Ravelry ID, you should go check out a contest the Project 365ers are having. Vote for the best photo submitted during February! There are some pretty amazing shots. Definitely makes me want to take a photography class and get out of this amateur stage.

Green Clean

Head on over to Natural Family Living blog for a great product review of safe (and to all appearances) effective household cleaners. You can even win some for yourself - check it out!

I especially think this is great reasoning on why switching to green products, even if you have to sacrifice some performance is important:

"It is important to me that I only clean my home with products that are safe, natural, and green. Conventional cleaners might be effective in cutting through dirt and grime but they do so at the expense of our health and the environment. While many might use cleaning products like Windex or 409 with very little prior thought or concern….I actually like to know what I am spraying all over my home. These cleaners contain many chemicals that can be toxic, reactive, corrosive, or flammable. There is also the potential that they can cause serious health issues and environmental damage. Technological advances allow us to do things faster, easier and more efficient than ever before but those advances and products have to be safe!"

I actually won KT's ideas contest and am now the proud owner of two patterns!! I chose the Pinnacles scarf and the Patchwork Tote, both of which I can't wait to cast on for! I'm actually heading to my LYS this afternoon to pick up my first installment of their sock club (SWEET!) and I'll see about getting the yarn for the scarf, before it gets too warm.

First Sweater

Little Bit can finally wear the sweater I knit her when she was just a belly bump. This was my very first sweater, and near to my first project. Being a Debbie Bliss pattern, there was no drawing showing me how to put it together, so it took me a little while to figure out how one ought to attach the sleeves to the body and in what order.

I'm thinking its time to knit her another sweater, one that has been finished well, and one that will fit her the rest of the winter...

lucky for me, my contest yarn from Theresa of Knitting Underway arrived today with just the right amount of baby sweater yarn. Now, I just need to find a pattern.
