Lace

Sneak Peek

It's lace, not woven, but as I'm working on this shawl for my wonderful, amazing mother, this poem keeps running through my mind.

She who reconciles the ill-matched threads
of her life, and weaves them gratefully
into a single cloth—
it’s she who drives the loudmouths from the hall
and clears it for a different celebration
where the one guest is you.
In the softness of the evening
it’s you she receives.
You are the partner of her loneliness,
the unspeaking center of her monologues.
With each disclosure you encompass more
and she stretches beyond what limits her,
to hold you.

Remember me?

Snowy vista, originally uploaded by hannah8ball.
I know its been a while, but I'm here and things are brewing. I'll be back soon with something substantive. I've been uploading a bunch of pics to my flickr photostream the last couple of weeks, so if you find yourself with some time head on over. But for now, may you find peace in your journey. Hasta pronto!
