I have finally attended a wedding shower that wasn't my own :) Misty did a great job with the food and didn't make us play any silly games. It was a lovely, grown up time. I'm only sad this was my only semi-decent shot. I really need to work on my indoor, less than ideal light shots.

Ok, last picnic picture, I swear. It's hard to describe how much fun Little Bit had. She was visiting with all of the adults and children, playing with the balls and balloons, jumping on the trampoline, chasing the dog, looking at horses, mooching food. She was quite the center of attention.

More pics from the picnic... sorry. They had this fantastic, huge backyard. And at the very back of it were horses. Little Bit loved them, but I think they were bigger than she thought they should be. They were rather friendly and didn't seem to mind posing for the camera.

Perry & Brenda Lacy at the company picnic. We had a really good time. Surprisingly, for a work event, there wasn't much talk of work. At least for me. Of course, that may have been because I spent most of it chasing Little Bit around... :)

My new soaker project. The Little One is growing like a weed and needs some new sleep pants.
This stitch pattern is stretchy and fun to knit. I can't believe how much I knit in one night.

My first shawl. In allhemp 6. I'm really liking it. And it knits up so fast! I think shawl knitting is here to stay.

The sky has been the most amazing blue ever. Ike blew through and then left crisp clear weather behind. I think fall is here to stay!

Lace and decrease detail on flora. I loved the way this turned out. And it's just long enough that I think Little Bit will be able to wear it next year too.
Its done! Well, mostly. I just need to get some elastic thread and figure out what to do for straps. I'm thinking a sand stitch band will work well, and be consistent with the texture of the top.

YARN! Not only did Little Bit secretly go stash diving in MY stash, but she also was getting it ready to start a project. I have a verfiable fiber fiend on my hands. Steps must be taken to protect my stash.

Here is a better shot of the stitch pattern for my SKA September sockdown sock. I'm also going to write up a version of this without the purls. My mom is going to test knit it for me, so I can't wait to see it! This will be her first toe up sock. Should we tell her its hard to go back to top down after you take the plunge? :)
This has been an interesting experience, as I was figuring out what I liked and didn't like from my original stitch pattern. I'm really happy with what emerged, and you can really see each little bit of it in this colorway. I should finish this one tomorrow, then its back to the 2nd Shalimar. Can I finish 4 socks in one month?

Look at the lake sparkle! The weather is cool, and there's hardly anyone here. Lovely. Can't wait to play in the water with little bit!

And more rain. Thank you, Gustav! The Louisiana air has been wreaking havoc on my system, and I've been sneezing almost constantly since it started drifting our way. I'm hoping this goes away soon so I can enjoy our weekend at the lake!
