Another shot of the JL yarn. I really like the way the 2 ply color changes. Yummy!

Little Bit has been enjoying hats lately. But I'm sad this is the best pic I got from that photo shoot. She does look kinda gangsta though :)

Ah yes, the closet in Little Bit's room has been slowly turning into this ridiculous monster. Time to organize! Hopefully the "after" pic will look much better.

Yarn for my Olympian Mitts. Top is JL Yarn. Bottom is some random sock yarn I picked up from ebay. Can't wait to get started on this!

Still in love. This is my take on Ribbed Leaves from Barbara Walker's 2nd Treasury. I am LOVING this book! I really like the way the yarn is knitting up and the pattern is keeping me interested. This is about halfway through the first repeat.
Do you think the yarn is too busy for the stitch pattern?

Yes, another project has been cast on. LOVE this yarn! Don't the colors just look so desert-perfect?
I used Charlotte Schurch's Short Row Toe and really like it. It also fits the shape of my foot better than the Magic 8 toe on the Baudelaire's (its interesting that I don't seem to have any pictures that show the entire toe... hmmm).

Finished the Baudelaire's! I have now knit 2 pair of socks in my knitting career. Bring on the cooler weather so I can wear these!

Yet another WIP. This one is based on the stitch pattern Peri's Parasol, although it reminds me more of a butterfly or moth(!). Naming will wait until it gets blocked I think.
I'm also not sure if this is going to be for me, or if this is going on the gift pile. It is certainly fun to knit though. I think lace is going to become a bigger part of my knitting :)

This lovely yarn is from Loribird of From the Wool Room. Mmm. It is so gorgeous!! I think this is my next pair of socks.

Patagonia Nature Cotton from my dishcloth swap. I'm thinking this should be made into a shrug? Cowl? Scarf? Regardless, this is staying out on my to be used soon shelf.
What do you think I should make with this yummy yarn?

Another example of a heat survivor. These desert rose plants have the most delicate blooms, for a plant that is so heat and drought resistant.

When the heat is on, the colors get brighter. My lantana seems to be thriving this summer. These flowers are very interesting as well, as they change colors as they mature. An excellent Texas native.

More time has been spent outside, with water and bubbles, in the shade, of course.
Have you any idea how hard it is to photograph a bubble? I went through about 100 shots to get this one. And it just so happened to be perfectly round... I couldn't have planned it better :)

Summer sky... I love the deep blue of the sky directly overhead, and today we had just enough clouds to make it stand out even more... now if we can just get it to drop some rain on us, it'd be perfect!

186/366 - Happy 4th of July!
A little red, white and blue for you :)
We spent most of the day playing in the water and enjoying our neighbor's fireworks, how about you?

We can get Little Bit's hair into a ponytail. Although, she doesn't leave it there... she was just busy playing in the sink while I snapped the picture. :)
